Sugar Bowl/Super Final

Sugar Bowl Resort is where it all began and ends with the Silver Belt Banzai.  2012 Qualifying run, Daron Rahlves (Sugar Bowl) set the fastest time at 1:02.90 followed by John Lange (Squaw) 1:04.91, John Bochenek (Squaw) 1:05.77 and new comer Casey Riva (Telluride, CO) 1:08.01. This venue was built for the RBT by mother nature as it's stacked with roller coaster terrain. Two options for the top section will be decided with snow conditions. 2011 had the elevator shaft route into the Silver Belt Gully.  2012 we took the skiers right around Dinosaur Rock entering the gully. Little natural hits put competitors in the air and the banks are fun to rail off.  The open feel up top feeds competitors into the option left "Woody's Way" or right "Daron's Dash". The two options here add excitement and are a great passing opportunity into the narrow walled Snake Gully.  From there you boost out onto Steilhang for "Rahlves Redline" and it's time to point it to the finish.  Keep an eye on the close battles to the line.  Best spectators areas are first turn, skier's right side of the gully, top of "Steilhang" and the finish watching the battle to the line. The last section produces a close race to the line.  After the Men's Ski Final, all four men ski winners from the tour and Daron Rahlves head to the top for one last throw down in the "Super Final" for $10,000 winner takes all.  Rahlves' Banzai Apres Party, hosted by High Fives Foundation will be at Sierra Vista Bar.  Whitey and Yohn will take care of you.
